Rene Fernandez is a diversely talented and versatile artist who uses many mediums to bring his ideas to life. Though he’s a veteran muralist, painter of commissioned art, sculptor and realism artist, his true passion lies in creating original 3D surrealism art which is often inspired by examinations of society, personal experiences or from history and science. The primary mediums he chooses for original art ideas are plaster and oil on canvas which, together, give his art the three dimensional effect which has become the trademark for all his new original art pieces.
Growing up in Houston, Texas, music and visual arts were a strong part of Rene’s life. His father loved music, was an accomplished artist and encouraged Rene to pursue his drive to create art.
Rene has not only been influenced by artists such as Dali, Da Vinci, Caravaggio and Banksy but also by great minds like Tesla and Einstein. All of whom did not allow traditional thought to limit them.
Rene is constantly creating art in unique ways. He is not limited by mediums or restricted by conventional labels. He has shown his works at East End Gallery, The Art Crawl, Liberty Station, War’Hous Gallery and most notably, Numbers Houston where he has not only shown original art but has also painted murals inside and outside the building.
Images of his artwork can be found on this website where prints, apparel and new commissioned art orders can be placed.
